what the fuck is up with the racist bit? does no one else hear that? why does nobody seem to care? and why would they even include that? fuck yndi halda, their songs aren't even good, racist or not. mediocre post rock.

What in the fuck are you talking about? Also, mediocre post-rock? I doubt you can name a better post-rock song than this.
How can you not ...( 8 months ago by OneWayRoad)
How can you not fucking hear that? I think I've figured out why you guys actually like this shit: you are all clearly deaf. From about 18:00 onwards or so they laugh about "black women" and "negroes". And lmao seriously? Wow, try anything by Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Do Make Say Think, or toe - just to name a few - for some post rock songs that are ACTUALLY good. This song is laughably basic.
The song itself is ...( 8 months ago by spscarter)
The song itself is only about 17 minutes long. It wasn't Yndi Halda who included the racist bit. And I have heard those bands. Mogwai is the only one I'd say who has any songs better than this one. I'm done arguing with you here, though, because it's just going to boil down to "MY OPINION IS BETTER THAN YOUR OPINION!"
I'm not arguing! ...( 8 months ago by OneWayRoad)
I'm not arguing! What do you mean it wasnt them that included it? They just re-released the album without it, probably after some backlash. Is it not them speaking and laughing about it? Whether it was them that included it or not, they are sickening. Doesn't it disgust you at all? All of the bands I mentioned are leaps and bounds ahead; YH is dull and unoriginal, formulaically & repetitively ripping off the sound of songs already created 20 years ago.

The racism part in the end was unneccessary to put in the end, yeah.
But for me it sounds like it's obviously just jokes, that they're not really racist.
I think most people has made jokes or laughed about a sensitive subject, doesn't mean you're bad for that.
But I wanna look further into this before I say anything else about it.
I won't like the music less because they might be racist though.

Judging my the title of the track, it seems to suggest a realization, a learning process, opening one's eyes/heart, or something to that extent. Maybe the interlude in the end was intended as a display of ignorance, and the songs progression is backwards or something. GY!BE uses all kind of recordings to convey/accentuate emotions, maybe theyw ere attempting to do the same and didn't get the message across as inteded or something.

I don't think it's fair to jump to any sort of conclusion on such a subject, especially when there's no information from the source to verify/confirm/disprove anything.

no but gy!be uses sound clips that are thought provoking and inspiring not "haha black people".
that is incredibly contrived and do you really think they would risk putting in a racist little skit at the end on the slim chance that people would actually pick up on all that? they thought it was funny and added it in, stop trying to excuse them by creating convoluted alternative reasons. they are just sick
